Lost Your Health Insurance · 60-Day Window

Just Lost Your
Health Insurance?

Job loss, COBRA running out, divorce, aging off a parent’s plan — losing coverage triggers a 60-day Special Enrollment Period (dropping COBRA early on your own doesn’t count). You can enroll in an ACA plan with any tax credit you qualify for, and we can also review private plans sold outside the Marketplace (approval and start dates depend on the plan). Your advisor handles everything — free.

What You Get

More Than Just a Plan

⚡
60-day Special Enrollment Period. Loss of coverage is a qualifying life event. You can enroll in an ACA plan, with any tax credit you qualify for, up to 60 days after you lose coverage, or up to 60 days before if you know it’s ending.
💰
Some people qualify for a $0/month ACA plan. Your tax credit is based on your expected household income for the whole calendar year, including what you already earned, so a mid-year job loss may mean bigger savings. In 2026 Open Enrollment, 29% of HealthCare.gov enrollees picked a plan with a $0 premium after the credit (CMS).
⭐
Private plan options, too. Some private plans sold outside the Marketplace can be applied for outside Open Enrollment, but approval depends on eligibility and underwriting, start dates depend on the plan, and you can’t use a tax credit on them. If you qualify for a tax credit or have a pre-existing condition, an ACA plan usually wins.
📋
Pre-existing conditions covered on ACA plans. ACA Marketplace plans must cover pre-existing conditions and can’t charge you more because of your health history.
👨‍⚕️
Doctor verification. Your advisor confirms your doctors are in-network before recommending a plan.
🔒
One call, everything handled. Your advisor explains every option, compares plans, and processes your application — free.
Carriers & Networks We Compare
AmbetterBCBSUHCCignaOscarMolinaFirst Health
First Health is a provider network, not an insurance company, and it doesn’t pay claims. A plan that uses the First Health network sets its own benefits and pays claims through its own administrator. Before you get care, confirm your doctor or facility is in network using the directory and phone number on your plan ID card. Some private plans use the Cigna PPO network; those plans are not insured by Cigna.
